Preamble

Why this document exists

We, the founding members of SSAVN Community, recognise that meaningful collective work requires a shared foundation — of values, expectations, and processes that everyone agrees to uphold.

This Constitution is that foundation. It is not a rulebook designed to restrict, but a framework designed to enable. It protects every member's dignity, ensures fairness, and creates the conditions for genuine collaboration and growth.

Article 1

Name, nature & registered office

  • 1.1Name. The name of the organization shall be SSAVN Community (hereinafter referred to as "the Community" or "the Organization").
  • 1.2Nature. The Community is a non-profit, non-political, and non-religious organization, established for social development, personal growth, and community welfare.
  • 1.3Registered Office. The registered office shall be located at [Address]. The office may be changed by resolution of the Governing Body.

Article 2

Vision, mission & objectives

2.1 Vision

To create a balanced and progressive society where individuals live with purpose, financial stability, meaningful relationships, and inner peace.

2.2 Mission

  • To promote self-awareness and right direction (Learn)
  • To enable sustainable livelihood and economic participation (Earn)
  • To foster healthy relationships and joyful living (Enjoy)
  • To encourage inner growth and service to society (Evolve)

2.3 Objectives

The Organization shall:

  • Provide educational, vocational, and life-skill programs
  • Facilitate employment, collaboration, and entrepreneurship
  • Organize cultural, social, and recreational activities
  • Conduct wellness, meditation, and self-development programs
  • Undertake social service and environmental initiatives

Article 3

Core values

All members are expected to embody and uphold the following values in their participation:

  • 3.1Integrity — Members act honestly, keep their commitments, and do not misrepresent themselves or their work.
  • 3.2Respect — Every person in the community is treated with dignity, regardless of their role or status.
  • 3.3Responsibility — Members own the commitments they make and the outcomes of their actions.
  • 3.4Transparency — Information relevant to the community is shared openly and honestly.
  • 3.5Collaboration — Members actively support each other's growth and success.
  • 3.6Inclusivity — No person is excluded based on identity. Diversity is a strength, not a challenge.

Article 4

Membership

3.1 Eligibility

Membership is open to individuals who agree with the objectives of the Organization and are willing to actively participate and contribute.

3.2 Categories of Membership

3.3 Admission Process

  • i Submission of application or referral by an existing member
  • ii Review by authorized members of the Governing Body
  • iii Completion of a trial or observation period
  • iv Formal approval by the Governing Body or designated authority

3.4 Rights of Members

  • Participate in all activities and programs of the Organization
  • Access community resources relevant to their membership category
  • Provide feedback and suggestions to the Governing Body

3.5 Duties of Members

  • Follow the rules and code of conduct of the Organization
  • Actively contribute to community activities and goals
  • Maintain respectful and constructive behavior at all times

3.6 Termination of Membership

Membership may be terminated due to:

  • Voluntary resignation by the member
  • Prolonged inactivity without valid reason
  • Violation of the rules or misconduct
  • Decision by the Governing Body after a fair hearing

Article 5

Governance structure

4.1 Governing Body

The Governing Body shall consist of:

Article 6

Departments

The Organization shall function through the following four departments, each aligned with a core pillar:

  • 5.1 Dharma — Education & Direction. Focused on self-development programs and curating knowledge resources to guide members toward purpose and right action.
  • 5.2 Artha — Livelihood & Skills. Responsible for skill training, job facilitation, project coordination, and enabling sustainable economic participation.
  • 5.3 Kama — Social & Cultural Activities. Organizes events, arts, recreational programs, and community bonding activities that celebrate culture and joy.
  • 5.4 Moksha — Wellness & Social Service. Leads meditation, wellness programs, social service initiatives, and environmental responsibility efforts.

Article 7

Meetings

  • 6.1General Meetings. Held periodically for all members to review progress, share updates, and make collective decisions.
  • 6.2Governing Body Meetings. Conducted monthly or as required to manage operations and governance.
  • 6.3Quorum. A minimum defined number or percentage of members must be present for a meeting to be valid and decisions to be binding.
  • 6.4Decision-Making. Decisions are made by majority vote. In the event of a tie or significant conflict, the Founder/President holds the final decision.

Article 8

Code of conduct

All members shall uphold the following standards of conduct at all times:

  • Act with integrity, honesty, and respect in all interactions
  • Avoid harmful, abusive, or disruptive behavior toward any member or third party
  • Not misuse, misappropriate, or damage community resources
  • Represent the Organization in a manner consistent with its values and mission

Violation of the Code of Conduct may result in a formal warning, temporary suspension, or permanent removal from the Organization — depending on the severity and nature of the violation.

Article 9

Conflict resolution

Disputes or conflicts within the community shall be resolved through the following structured process:

  • Step 1 Direct discussion between the involved parties to seek mutual understanding and resolution
  • Step 2 Mediation facilitated by a Core Member if direct discussion does not resolve the issue
  • Step 3 Formal review by the Governing Body, with both parties given an equal opportunity to be heard
  • Step 4 Final decision and action by the Governing Body, which shall be binding on all parties

Article 10

Finance & funding

9.1 Sources of Funds

  • Membership contributions
  • Donations and grants from individuals or institutions
  • Project-based income generated through community work
  • Partnerships and collaborative arrangements

9.2 Financial Management

  • All funds shall be used exclusively for organizational objectives
  • Proper and accurate records shall be maintained at all times
  • Regular financial reporting shall be ensured and shared with members
  • No individual shall commit funds above an agreed threshold without Governing Body approval

9.3 Bank Account

A bank account shall be opened in the name of the Organization and operated only by authorized signatories as designated by the Governing Body.

Article 11

Resource management

The Organization's resources include:

  • 10.1 All resources shall be used ethically and solely for the benefit of the community and its objectives.
  • 10.2 Members, volunteers, and collaborators are considered human resources and must be treated with respect and fairness.
  • 10.3 Intellectual property created under the Organization's name belongs to the Organization unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • 10.4 Physical assets shall be recorded in a community asset register and maintained responsibly.

Article 12

Collaboration & partnerships

  • 11.1 The Organization may collaborate with individuals, groups, or institutions that share aligned values and objectives.
  • 11.2 All partnerships must be reviewed and approved by the Governing Body to ensure alignment with the Organization's mission.
  • 11.3 No collaboration shall be entered into that compromises the Organization's integrity, independence, or non-political nature.
  • 11.4 Collaboration agreements of significance shall be documented in writing and retained in the Organization's records.

Article 13

Amendments

  • 12.1 Amendments to this Constitution may be proposed by any member of the Governing Body.
  • 12.2 Proposed amendments must be communicated to all members in advance of a meeting called for that purpose.
  • 12.3 An amendment is adopted when approved by a majority vote of the Governing Body.
  • 12.4 All adopted changes shall be formally documented and the Constitution version updated accordingly.

Article 14

Dissolution

In the event that the Organization is dissolved:

  • 13.1 All outstanding liabilities and obligations shall be settled before any assets are distributed.
  • 13.2 Remaining assets shall be transferred to a similar non-profit organization as agreed upon by the Governing Body.
  • 13.3 No member shall claim any personal benefit or financial gain from the dissolution.
  • 13.4 A formal dissolution record shall be maintained and made available to all members.

Article 15

Legal compliance

The Organization shall at all times comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and statutory requirements of the jurisdiction in which it operates. The Governing Body is responsible for ensuring ongoing legal compliance and for seeking appropriate legal advice when required.

Declaration

Adoption & signatories

This Constitution is adopted on [Date] by the founding members of SSAVN Community. It is a living document — we expect it to grow and improve as the community does.
